Man arrested about 12 hours after release from Indiana jail, accused of stealing car, beer
CLOVERDALE, Ind. (AP) _ A 22-year-old man was back behind bars about 12 hours after he was released from jail, accused of stealing a car and beer and leading police on a high-speed chase.
Darren E. Roberts was released from the Sullivan County Jail Tuesday afternoon after competing his sentence for auto theft.
But Indiana State Police say that early Wednesday morning, Roberts stole a 2004 red Ford Mustang in Linton, then drove to a gas station in Cloverdale where he allegedly stole some beer and fled.
Police chased the red Mustang at speeds of up to 105 mph on Interstate 70, until the car spun out and Roberts surrendered.
He's now being held in the Putnam County Jail without bond on a variety of charges. It's not immediately known if he has an attorney.

Brew Crew Metrosexual News
A pharmacy chain in Sweden has been hauled before the country's equal opportunities ombudsman after two men complained that its sex toys discriminate against males.State-run Apoteket, had a “misguided and untrue view of sexuality whereby a woman with a dildo is seen as liberated, strong and independent, while a man with a blow-up plastic vagina is viewed as disgusting and perverted”, said one of the petitioners.
The chain introduced the lines of vibrators and other items in June, reports The Times.
But the company has hit back saying it would stock sex toys for men if there were any good ones available.
Eva Fernvall, who oversees products for Apoteket, told The Telegraph that the company believed "there are no products of good quality for men on the market".
"Should there be such products specifically for men, then there is nothing stopping us from selling them."
The claims have been rejected by the ombudsman who said: "Apoteket's goods are made available to men and women, and therefore Apoteket does not break the law regarding sex discrimination."

Sweden relaxes rules on givings kids unusual names
For decades, Swedish tax authorities had banned parents from naming their children after fast food chains, rock bands or their favorite brand of beer.
But tax authority spokesman Lars Tegenfeldt says the guidelines have been relaxed. He says "there is nothing negative about a name like Coca-Cola or McDonald's today. In the 1970s, maybe it was."
Still, authorities are drawing the line at giving children swear words for names. And forget about naming your child God, Allah or Devil.

26 teen cheerleaders rescued after cramming into an elevator at the University of Texas
One girl fainted and was treated at a hospital and released. Two others were treated at the scene.
The elevator doors refused to open after the pack of 14- to 17-year-olds descended from the fourth to the first floor, police said. Responding to a few panicked cell phone calls from the group, police and firefighters summoned an elevator repairman, who spent about 25 minutes extricating them.
Campus officials weren't amused.
"It's dangerous, actually," said a school police spokeswoman, Rhonda Weldon. "They're lucky that that's all that happened."

Hundreds of mostly nude bicyclists joined curious spectators in the city's Tower Grove Park on Saturday night for a 10-mile "World Naked Bike Ride."
The ride has been staged in 70 cities worldwide since 2004 as a way to protest society's dependence on oil.
St. Louis police were on hand to ensure the riders wore the bare minimum, which included thongs, pasties, loin cloths, bathing suits and even body painting.
However, officers didn't seem to notice one rider wearing nothing but a pink derby hat.

Women look for the perfect brothel
Grandmother Jean Johnson, 62, and her friend Shirley Landells, 73, visited brothels in Amsterdam, the US, and New Zealand.
The pair, both members of the Hampshire WI, started a campaign to legalise brothels in the UK following the murder of five Ipswich prostitutes in 2006.
Their tour, to search for the perfect brothel, was filmed by Channel 4.
The Purely Blue Brothel in Auckland, New Zealand, described by Johnson as "lovely, just like a hotel" was given the pair's seal of approval as the world's best.
The system in Amsterdam, where prostitutes attract clients while sitting at windows, and the Bunny Ranch in Nevada, where prostitutes pay tax and are given regular health checks but line up for selection by men, were deemed unsuitable as models for the UK.
Landells told the Radio Times: "Obviously, certain people react and say 'oh, prostitution shouldn't happen'.
"But the fact is that it does. Providing somewhere for it to happen would not only help to make the girls safer, it would also have a wider impact on health both for the girls and their clients, as well as the clients' families."
Johnson, who first proposed the legalisation campaign to her branch of the WI, said: "I pointed out to them that in the 1920s we were worried about equal pay, and in 1984 we called for more research into HIV and Aids. So we've always been comparatively campaigning.
"Everybody looks on these girls as being the lowest stratum of society and that's not true. I mean, one of those girls (in Ipswich) was into horse-riding, the whole works."
The pair presented a petition to Downing Street calling for legalised brothels.

Man Murders his Lawn Mower
Here is one we can all understand, for me personally I would choose my laptop for target practise. A 56-year-old Milwaukee man is accused of shooting his lawn mower to deah because it wouldn’t start for him.
Keith Walendowski was charged with felony possession of a short-barreled shotgun or rifle and misdemeanor disorderly conduct while armed. According to the criminal complaint, Walendowski said he was angry because his Lawn Boy wouldn’t start Wednesday morning. He was quoted as telling police: “I can do that, it’s my lawn mower and my yard so I can shoot it if I want.”
A woman who lives at Walendowski’s house reported the incident. She says he was intoxicated. Walendowski could face up to an $11,000 fine and six years and three months in prison if convicted. The funny thing is that when police showed up they checked the gas tank of the mower and it was empty, so he didn’t have to kill it, just fill it.
Transvestite Toilets
In Bankok, Thailand there are seperate bathrooms for teen boys who prefer to dress as girls at one rural high school. No more tough decisions about which toilet to take to or having to go to the teachers lounge.
The Kampang School in northeastern Thailand conducted a survey last term that showed more than 200 of the school’s 2,600 students considered themselves transgender, said school director Sitisak Sumontha. So, when classes resumed in May, the school unveiled a unisex restroom designated by a human figure split in half - part man in blue and part woman in red. Below it are the words “Transvestite Toilet.”
Three transgender students praised the new restroom as they plucked their eyebrows and applied face powder in front of the mirror outside the stalls. Most rural Thais are conservative in many ways, but the trailblazing toilet initiative at the school in northeastern Sisaket province reflects another aspect of Thai society: its tolerance of the country’s very visible transgender community. The term describes a wide range of identities including cross-dressers, transvestites, transsexuals and those born with the physical characteristics of both sexes.
Kampang is not Thailand’s first educational institution to set up unisex washrooms, though Sitisak said he believed it was a first for a secondary school. A 1,500-student technical college in the northern province of Chiang Mai set up a “Pink Lotus Bathroom” for its 15 transvestite students in 2003. Deputy Education Minister Boonlue Prasertsopar recently said the ministry plans to count the number of transgender university students.
He said he was not promoting transgender interests, “but if there are a lot of them in a university and it’s a problem, we may have to consider building toilets and dormitories for them.” Transgenders are regularly seen on TV soap operas and throughout Bangkok, working at department store cosmetics counters, popular restaurants, in office jobs and in the capital’s red-light districts. Thailand also has transgender beauty pageants. I think a lot of those saying they consider themselves transgender are just doing it to be supportive.
