Police: Drunk Pa. Man Tried To 'Revive' Opossum

(CNN) -- A Pennsylvania man attempted to resuscitate "a road-killed opossum," state police say.

But this was one possum who wasn't playing possum -- the ugly creature remained dead.

Troopers responding to the scene in Oliver Township on Thursday determined that Donald J. Wolfe, 55, of Brookville, was drunk, according to the police report.

Several witnesses observed Wolfe's failed resurrection of the flattened marsupial, police said. It was not immediately clear how he endeavored to restore the possum's life.

The arresting officer in the incident was unavailable for comment Friday. Attempts to reach Wolfe were also unsuccessful.

Wolfe will be charged with one charge of public drunkenness, police said.

Dumbass: Man Drunk At DUI Sentencing

Authorities said a drunken driver showed up for his sentencing hearing drunk again.
Jason Botos, 30, was driven to court by his father and investigators said he was so drunk that he had to be helped inside and wasn't able to make his court appearance.
"He was unable to get himself out of the vehicle, he was so intoxicated," said deputy Sarpy County attorney Ben Perlman.
Investigators said Botos' father asked deputies to help carry his son inside the courthouse.
Botos was scheduled to be sentenced for a drunken driving offense in September 2009. He was driving near Highway 75 and Cornhusker Road when his car jumped a curb and smashed into five other vehicles, critically injuring three people.
"Because he failed to appear for his court appearance, a warrant was issued," said Perlman.
Deputies arrested Botos in the parking lot.
"He was kind of slumped over. Two deputies assisted him," said Sarpy County Sheriff's Deputy Tina Anderson. "He could not walk on his own."
Inside the jail, Anderson put Botos through a breath test.
"The test showed he was at a 0.43," she said, a level that is more than five times the legal limit.
Deputies sent him to a hospital to get checked out and then brought him back to a cell.
"He was coughing and curled up in a ball," Anderson said.
Botos now faces a new charge and more jail time in a case that has authorities shaking their heads.
"This is a pretty rare case, and extreme case," said Capt. Monty Daganaar of the Sarpy County Sheriff's Office.
Botos will be sentenced on Tuesday. Between the new charge of failure to appear and the drunken driving conviction, he could get 18 months in jail.

Driving while shaving private parts causes accident

We all know the dangers of driving while texting or talking on a cell phone. Now Florida Keys law enforcement officers add a new caution: Don't try to shave your privates while driving, either.

Florida Highway Patrol troopers say a two-vehicle on Cudjoe Key was caused by a 37-year-old woman driver who was shaving her bikini area while her ex-husband took the wheel from the passenger seat, reports keysnews.com.

It wasn't a close shave -- it was a total wreck.
"She said she was meeting her boyfriend in Key West and wanted to be ready for the visit," Trooper Gary Dunick said. "If I wasn't there, I wouldn't have believed it. About 10 years ago I stopped a guy in the exact same spot ... who had three or four syringes sticking out of his arm. It was just surreal and I thought, 'Nothing will ever beat this.' Well, this takes it."

Megan Mariah Barnes should not have been driving.

The day before the wreck Barnes was convicted in an Upper Keys court of DUI with a prior and driving with a suspended license.
After the accident Barnes and her ex-husband, Charles Judy, drove another half-mile, then switched seats. Judy then claimed that he was the driver.

But the burns on Judy's chest from the passenger-side airbag deploying told another story. The airbag in the steering wheel did not deploy, according to FHP.

Troopers charged Barnes with driving with a revoked license, reckless driving, leaving the scene of a wreck with injuries and driving with no insurance.
